Petone Lower Hutt

Hi! We're looking for a friendly and reliable housesitter for three months to take care of our senior (17 y/o) cat and a couple of plants! Our previous arrangements have fallen through, so appreciate this might be short notice.

Our house is conveniently located just past the shops on Jackson Street in Petone, 1-5 mins walk from bus stops or 10 mins walk from Ava train station. We are also a couple of blocks from the beach and the Hutt River trail.

Our senior cat, Lily, is mild-mannered but needs a little more attention as she gets older. Currently she is on a renal diet (all food will be supplied by us), and due to her long coat needs daily brushing. Luckily she's very compliant! Optionally, she can go and stay with her grandparents in Upper Hutt if preferred. They will also be your key contact for anything during the house-sitting period. We also get on well with our next door neighbours so you'll have friendly faces over the fence.

We have a few indoor plants as well as a thriving garden - however we are only looking for someone to do some straightforward maintenance, i.e. watering a couple of indoor plants, a bit of weeding each month, and mowing the lawns once a month. A green bin is picked up every four weeks for any garden stuff. We have prolific lemon trees and you'll be staying during feijoa season, where our three trees will supply a bumper crop.

You'll have the run of the house, except for the master bedroom which will be closed and used for storage while we're away. So, there's one bedroom and one other room which we've set up as a home office with a fold-out couch bed.
