Our special needs dog Pip, a 8 year old Border Collie who has EPI is looking for someone to walk with, play with, make her meals and have fun with.
Basically her pancreas does not work and so she is on a special diet and needs rest before and after eating, apart from that she is a very active dog, who loves to walk, run, swim and play games. She can be left for periods up to 4 hours and will sleep happily in her crate.
We live in a 6 year old modern home with central heating and cooling and all mod cons. Help yourself from our productive vegetable garden.
Explore and enjoy this lovely part of New Zealand close to Matakana Markets, 2 Golf Courses, Wineries, Regional Parks and lots of lovely beaches.
It was an absolute pleasure to sit for Shona and Julian again. Pip is such a wonderful dog who enjoys games, walks and cuddles. All was prepared for a lengthy stay and I was well provided for during that time. Pip has well established routines that made it a joy to care for her. I felt very much at home and Shona and Julian are very considerate hosts. Loved the morning and evening views of the sea and sky.
Pip is a delightful Border Collie who wants nothing more than to chase a ball or play tug-o-war. Snells Beach is a short walk from the house and was the perfect setting for longer walks, especially at low-tide when the mudflats of Kawau Bay opened up and offered an excellent opportunity for bird watching too.
Pip was easy to look after and game for a car-ride when we wanted to explore a little further afield. The house is well appointed and organized, easy to maintain, as was the garden. ... MORE

Shona and Julian are warm and welcoming, their home is comfortable and spotless, their gardens are gorgeous and Pip is well-trained, energetic and loveable.
We highly recommend this sit but hope we're the ones who get to be here next time too!

Shona and Julian were so welcoming and easy going. I loved staying in their beautiful home and Pip was a delight to sit for. She was full of energy and I loved playing with her and taking her for walks. Very clear instructions on her dietary needs and she has a well established routine to follow. Very obedient and well trained. It was an absolute pleasure.
We loved everything about this sit. Shona and Julian welcomed us warmly into their beautiful home. They showed us around to some of the local areas, shared lots of local info, and even took us out for a first-night dinner, We joined Shona on a walk with their awesome dog, Pip, and she told us of several other great places we could take Pip for off-leash walks.
