Ohura South Waikato

House sitters required. Approximately 2kms from the local village, 45 minutes West of Taumarunui. Close vicinity to explore any of the Forgotten World Adventures, hikes/walks around the central plateau mountains and parks, approximately 2 hours from the beautiful coastal city of New Plymouth, the crisp surrounds of Lake Taupo, and busy hub of Hamilton City, and only just over an hour to Stratford and any of the Taranaki mountain walks and parks. The Whanganui River is also a very close explore. Tererepahupahu falls and hut a short drive and easy walk. Mokau Beach and all the tunnels on the way only just over an hours drive. Mount Damper Falls (one of the highest in the North Island) only a half hour drive away.
Our place is a small rural lifestyle block in a safe and private haven, with one elderly neighbouring lifestyler across the way. We are a couple of minutes from the local cosmopolitan club that does meals, and has a little essentials hub. Our property is a 4 bedroom home with double garage with safe and private driveway access. Campervan access right up to the house, larger camper vehicles have access to a purposefully levelled site next to the driveway entrance (right beneath the house as we used to own a large motorhome). The house is heated by all day natural sunlight and a brand new log fire with an abundance of ready to burn firewood. The vegetable gardens and green houses are available to harvest when and as needed all year round.
We have two extremely quiet farm type horses who will not need any maintenance other than to be sighted occasionally. Many of our farm dogs will be farmed out to other carers with our older less high energy crew of 5 left behind to be cared for. The will need a run in their large paddock morning and night, and some biscuits fed to them after the night run. They are very well behaved with no extra input being needed to manage them. We have free range hens with self feeders in a large fenced area which only require egg collection and the feeders topped up once a week. There are 3 eldery ducks that roam around and now and again we chuck them some pellets. In the home we have a labrador size pet dog (labrador cross) and two cats - one elderly and one young. Only food and love required. If you are heading out exploring, the pet dog has a kennel he can go in with the other dogs. The pet dog seems to win everyone over and is an extremely loving and relaxed dog. If you need to do an overnighter away exploring somewhere then occasionally all animals will be ok if fed and exercised the day you leave and then again the next day upon your return. We have planted most of our gullies and grounds and the bird life is abundant. We have a small amount of lawn in the grounds to relax and enjoy the birds and the surrounding bush. During that time of the year we often have foggy starts to the day which lead to a nice view and beautiful crisp days. The starry sky at night time is uninterrupted by lighting and can have some remarkable viewing opportunities. The grounds and house will require very limited maintenance - just cleaning up behind yourself really. We would dearly love to visit our little 2 year old grand daughter all the way in the top of remote Western Australia so would be grateful if someone feels like a bit of a break away at ours.
