We live in a special part of the winterless Far North, close to Houhora Harbour, 45km north of Kaitaia and overlooking the east coast & off shore islands. If you're looking to escape the chill of winter, there's no better place than the Far North! We have a small lifestyle property with fruit trees & olives. There are many beaches within easy access & great places to fish, walk & explore. Our 15 year old home is modern, comfortable & sunny. We have a 3 year old Fox Terrier/Jack Russell cross named Buddy and an 11 year old English Staffy named Violet. Our dogs are inside pets and are used to spending most of their time with us in and around the house and on walks around our hill. Our daughter, partner & grand-daughters also live in another house on the property & though busy with their work & life, are here as support. We have a small greenhouse with some subtropicals & houseplants requiring occasional watering. We would appreciate a sitter who loves dogs and who will take care of our home and plants as we like to. We look forward to talking with interested sitter/s. Our property is not suitable for small children sorry.

I spent two very happy weeks in March/April house-sitting for Sue and Andy in their comfortable home in the Far North and caring for their very lovable pets - dog Honey and cat Shiva.
I heartily recommend Sue and Andy as home-sit hosts to others and would have no hesitation sitting for them again myself if the occasion were to arise.
I really enjoyed house-sitting for Sue and Andy in this beautiful hilltop location surrounded by trees, with views across rural land to the sea and the sunrise. It is a comfortable, warm, sunny home with a large permaculture-style garden full of interesting plants. I have been back to house-sit again since this first house-sit and I will be going back a third time. The dogs are very cute, smart and entertaining.
