Bay of Plenty - Whakatane

Lyn & Peter

Would you like a peaceful couple of weeks in a sleepy beachside village, then Matata is the place for you.
We are looking for a housesitter for our 4yr old French bulldog, 12mth old shitz/beardie cross and a 5yr old Exotic Persian.
We live in a 2 bedroom unit with a deck and ocean views. A 10min stroll and your feet will be in the ocean, 15 min drive to Whakatane and 45 min drive to the Mount.
We have a social pub in town that serves great meals and often has live music, a superb fish & chips shop with the freshest of fish. There is a vegetable market Friday and Saturday down opposite the park. Frequent our local Cafe where you can enjoy a coffee, fresh cakes or a crunchy sour dough loaf. All of this within a few minute stroll.
Our pets are very sociable (Frenchie sleep on our bed) our cat is a little coy and takes a wee while to warm to new people.
Being a unit we only need someone to care for the animals and water a few pots on the deck.
Our accommodation would suit a single person/couple/small family.
Our fridge, freezer and contents of the pantry are available for you during the sit.

Wow! We really lucked in with this wonderful sit. Lyn and Pete are the most welcoming and generous hosts! They couldn't have tried harder to make us feel valued for looking after their fabulous furbies. Frenchies Magoo and Kaia and Freya the cat were such fun to be with. Such engaging and engendering characters. The dogs are happy with a walk each day and as much love as you can give them. We were so very sad to say goodbye to them at the end of the sit. What can we say about this sit! They have become our Kiwi family. Starting with the fur babies, they are funny, well-behaved, and a joy to be around! Mr. Magoo is the big brother, super easy and charming, getting to your heart; as well as little Kaia, who is incredibly funny and loves playing.
