We need a house sitter

Manawatū-Whanganui - Tararua

We need caring quiet person/s to house-sit and care for our Shihtzu-poodle dog Buddy, home and grounds and 2 laying hens.
We have a very comfortable warm home on a 4 acre lifestyle block, with fabulous views of the Tararua and Ruahine Ranges. We are 45 minutes from Palmerston North, 12 minutes from Woodville and 5 minutes from Pahiatua. It is very quiet and peaceful. No farming is required as the neighbour uses the land for grazing small animals.
Our home is warm and comfortable with fabulous views towards the ranges over well maintained farming land. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 living areas, 2 toilets. We are clean and tidy living, non-smokers and require sitter/s who will maintain our home and grounds in this condition.
We are on tank water, and have a wood fire for home heating. Plenty of dry wood in the shed. Also a heat pump if needed.
There is plenty of room and easy access for anyone with a camper, bus, or caravan to safely park.

We are close to many tramping tracks/walks, various rivers with good fishing, 40 minutes to Mt Bruce/Pukaha and 1 hour to east coast beaches. Your own vehicle would be required.

Responsibilities would include checking feed and water for the hens, collecting eggs which you of course can eat, and general care of our home, lawns and vege garden.
Our main requirement is someone to care for Buddy, and to care for our home.
We are happy for sitters to be away for day trips. We have great neighbours who will assist with any problems and help keep an eye on things. Sitters pets may be welcome after discussion.

House Sitting for lovely Annette & Charles was truly a privilege. Their thoughtful and grounding home hugged by rolling hills, majestic trees and the dearest grazing Lambs and Calves was simply a joy to spend time in. I was fortunate enough to care for their two darling Hens, who were so very sweet, gentle natured and such lovely company. A great house sit in Pahiatua. Looking after the lovely Buddy, a 5 yr old Shitzu/ poodle cross. Such a lovely natured little guy and a real character. House was lovely & comfortable with a great fire, that was used full time. Great location in a beautiful part of NZ.

Our best housesitting ever. Dream home, a wonderful view at the top of a hill. Our bedroom was big, with a large bed with electric blankets on to keep you warm. Plenty of drawer and wardrobe space, making us even more comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and more. I had a great stay at Annette and Charles' home. It was warm and quiet, with lovely rural views. Their little dog Buddy is wonderful to look after - very obedient, intelligent and loving. We had great fun. Annette and Charles left useful information and checked in with me regularly while they were away.

No rating Charles and Annette have a lovely home and lifestyle block and it is a great place to housesit. All the home comforts are provided for and the wood burner is fabulous for the colder nights/days. It was also a pleasure to look after their animals with the added bonus of fresh farm eggs every day. Charles and Annette are a lovely couple and I would recommend their property as a great place to house/farm sit.
