We need a house sitter

West Coast - Westland

Mick

Looking for a sitter for approximately 2 weeks in Kaniere (5 mins from Hokitika). We have two dogs who need feeding and general looking after and bit of human interaction while we are out of town. They are house dogs but are easy care and have a huge run that allows freedom for house sitters to go exploring. We also have five hens that need feeding in the morning. (Free Eggs!)

We are situated in quiet location within walking distance of the local pub. 20 minutes from the famous Hokitika Gorge and 15 to Lakes Kaniere or Mahinapua. The Tree Top Walk is only 10 minutes away. It is less than ten minutes drive into Hokitika's restaurants, shops, bars and the beautiful beach. It is only an hour and a half's drive up to the Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki.

We would welcome the house sitters to come on the Friday before we leave if it is easier and more convenient .

We had a great time house sitting for Mick and Jacqui. We met them the night before their trip and they welcomed us with a delicious meal. Charlie and Nui are happy and easy going dogs who made our stay very pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed their company and affection. Thank you, Jacqui and Mick, for the opportunity to take care of Charlie and Nui and your home and chickens. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in your incredible area, with so many very scenic places to visit nearby, as the weather permitted. Charlie and Nui were wonderful company. Great communication throughout. Taking care of a home which was so clean on my arrival, plus plenty of space in the fridge, freezer and pantry, as well as for clothes storage was greatly appreciated. Ist was lovely to stay at this place! Mick and Jaquie are so friendly and to handle the dogs is easy. You can make some trips during your stay aswell. I had a great time:)

We had such a fantastic time to look after Mick’s and Jaqcui’s beautiful dogs and the cosy and warm house ☺️ George, Charlie and Nui were such a delight to be with. Mick and Jacqui welcomed us so warmly and left us with clear instructions. We would house sit anytime again 😊 only to recommend!

We had the absolute best time house sitting Charlie, George and Nui for Mick and Jacqui! Their house was absolutely beautiful, had everything you could need and they were both so generous and helpful with reccomendations for the area. They were in a great location right by Hokitika and we loved our time exploring the area then returning home for cuddles on the sofa. We’d love to come back and sit again anytime!

We had a lots of fun here looking after 5 greyhounds (2 Retired) and a Golden retriever and a lab puppy. They were all very affectionate and extremely intelligent. As this was our first time taking care of Greyhounds, we appreciated the well laid out instructions left for us. Mick & Jacqui's house was cosy and warm and we were made to feel welcome. Beautiful gardens, but wet weather meant we dudnt give them much attention, other than mow the lawn. Highly recommend this housesit.
